Making mistakes is ESSENTIAL for learning and growth. Try this:
Do a cartwheel. Yes, that gymnastic move. Now that you've done it, did it go perfectly? Or is there room for improvement? If there is, why? Why didn't you do it perfectly the first time?
That's because skill is built on heap of failures and on determination to improve. You didn't know what to account for until you tried it, but now you do. And after the next failure, you learn something else.
You have to be willing to fail, to take risks, to confront the challenge in order to be better. You can't make it perfect the first time, you have to make mistakes in order to see where they are. You have to start from somewhere: write that first word, make that first brush stroke, take the first step - don't worry how it goes. Just do it.
And don't give up. People might laugh, mock you, tease you etc, but that is just a test of your resolve, keep at it. If they laugh at your attempts, so be it, at least you admit your weakness and are willing to do something about it.
"Oh look at that fatty trying to run.. lol" How perceptive of you.. I am fat and that's EXACTLY the reason why I run. The failure you see is a testament of why I do it, why I want to better.
My actions require no explaining, my whole being and my actions ARE the explanation. I do it, solely because I'm doing it, because that's who I am, I am the action. There's nothing else to it, it's self-explanatory.
Try and fail, over and over again until you (and only you) are satisfied with the result. And the harder it is, the more awesome it feels once you achieve it - that alone is worth investing, the only downside being: that feeling is yours, and yours alone - you can't share it, because it's meant only for you since you were the one pursuing it, so you alone get the reward for it.
As a sidenote: no one can be perfect. Because when you are absolutely perfect there's nothing to add; no next step; you are complete; your life is complete, it is fulfilled, there's nothing to add to it; no more of anything - there is no lack of anything; it is at its end.
In other words: You die.
As long you have breath in you, as long as you are alive, there's something to improve - so get at it.
TL;DR: Well... You should read it anyway..
PS. Why would you give so much value/importance in what other people thought of you? Why would you give other people any power over your life, since they themselves have no intention of doing the same? Why would their wants and needs be more important than yours? It's YOUR life, that should be YOUR top priority: to live it the way YOU want. Fuck the other people, they don't care about you nor do they look out for your best interest. What other people think is none of your business.
Also: being an "asshole" is about not being something other people want you to be. And you will always be an asshole in someone's opinion, so you might as well be yourself. Being needlessly mean and rude is a waste of your time and energy - thus just stupid. Know the difference.
