Yeah, maybe he did all those things, but I myself can't ever know for sure what he did, no matter have many books I read or how many testimonies I hear. It's still a matter of believing it.
Also: History is written by victors. So ofc the losing side is painted as evil as possible, no one's going to say "Yay, we are even worse than the other guys and we won!"
And no I'm not saying the "winners" of WWII were worse, I'm just saying I can't know for sure how pure and "good" either side were..
PS. If someone/everyone around you wrote a book about you, or if you were to write a book about someone you know, how accurate would it be? In what light would you paint yourself in his/her life? Just something to think about.
