“When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say.”
-George R.R. Martin
If words can hurt you then there must be some truth to them. And the only thing lost/damaged were illusions and unfounded beliefs.
If truth is something that always persists thus cannot be harmed or threatened, does that mean that the "you" you believe in isn't real since it can be threatened and harmed? The blade of truth only cuts down lies. Will you become invulnerable if you align yourself with the truth? Is that what acceptance is about?
“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.”
-Philip K. Dick
Whatever happens, happens. That's the reality. Reality is self-explanatory, there's really nothing to believe in.
So if truth is whatever is real i.e truth = reality, then who are you really? Who/what is the real you?
(*identity is a belief in itself)
