If "racism" is when white people discriminate against black people, for the sole reason for them being black, and "reverse-racism" is when black people discriminate against white people, for the sole reason for them being white, then what do you call Asians who discriminate against black people, or vice versa? In all of these cases someone discriminates against someone else based on their race, it would be much easier if we came up with a universal term for that concept (the concept of discriminating against anyone based on their race).
Or at least I think there should be a universal term for the concept of someone discriminating against someone else based on their race (no matter what race either/any of them are) i.e. when an action is taken on the basis of someone's race.
I also think that the term should reflect the concept somehow, so you can derive the meaning from the term itself; so the term reflects both there being an action/belief and the basis of the action/belief like: "race-ism" .. or "racism" ( much like with the terms "communism", "capitalism", "Buddhism", "journalism" and "anarchism" ), and the person who practices/believes in this concept could be called a "race-ist" or "racist" much like a person who plays a bass guitar is called "bassist", or like the practitioners of "Buddhism" are called "Buddhists" etc.
Wouldn't that be nice? It's just my suggestion.
PS. I initially thought using -ing and -er suffixes, but I vaguely remember "racing" and "racer" already being used for different concepts.....
