On self-righteous people and groups

The "sensei" will always invent another level so as not to become irrelevant.
If you let people dictate what you should be, if you let other people be the arbiters of what you are, you will never be good enough to fit their standards because you have agreed to be a lesser being, and you will never be good enough until you yourself say that you are.

Once you have mutilated yourself beyond recovery they might move onto someone else. The whole thing is about feeling superior to someone else; you will never be accepted as one them, unless you point their attention to someone else, unless you find someone who is even less "acceptable", less like them than you. But the one who started it or is currently leading it will never let someone else be as "good" and "virtuous" as them.
