There's nothing like life

Most (if not all) of the people I have dealt with can't seem to appreciate nor understand how unique life is with all its in intricacies.

All the events you go through happen only once,
All the situations you encounter can be experienced only once.
All the people you meet are one-of-a-kind.
A relationship with a person changes overtime and never goes back the way it was.
Things will never be the same again, although superficially they might appear to be.
A trip to the grocery store isn't the same as the previous one.

It's a combination and series of unique one-time-events mixed together as a single experience.

Things appear and then they are gone. Forever. You can never watch that movie for the first time again, or read that book that had a great plot twist. You can never experience a certain vacation again. It won't be the same again.

Although everyone realizes that no person is the same as some other person, I haven't got the vibe from the people that I've met that they truly understand what this means. If you lose the people you have now, they will be gone forever. You won't have what you have ever again. Even if you were to meet again after few years, the relationship won't be the same. Things will never be like "old times". You can't relive your past, if you try you'll miss the current moment, and probably try to relive that one too in the future.

Life is a one time deal, and everything in it is a one time deal too. You get only one shot a life. This is it. This is the only life you are ever going to have. Make the most of it. Why spend it on anything else than making it more enjoyable for yourself? It's your life, you have only one of those. Everything is once in a life time opportunity. Every minute is a once in a life time opportunity: to live that said minute.

So enjoy every minute of it. But be mindful: Although everything happens only once, the echoes of your decisions ripple through eternity; Ignore the people closest to you, or just good people in general, you might end up paying for it, or at least missing them, because after all: there's no one else like them. There never was, and never will be.
