On fancy titles and false sense of importance

I think to some people having job/career is a form of playing dress up and to achieve a title/social status, so they can be "something" in other people's eyes. Demanding to be called a "first impressions manager" is just a fancy name for a receptionist. Changing the name doesn't change what you do, and the aforementioned change just confuses people. It's important to some people to appear to be something important, rather than actually being it i.e. " I must be important because I've achieved this title. I don't have to do anything anymore, I got 'there.' Now, you have to worship me, you have to listen to me because the importance I received for being X"

To some people having a title is like a magic spell, it's just something to say when you are losing an argument or feeling insecure in the Oneupmanship game: "I am a MANAGER of first impressions; managers are important therefore I am right." (Argumentum ad auctoritatem: Argumentum ad verecundiam)

It's just a card you play, an ace in the sleeve, a magical protection spell to push back those bad feels, to make those bad feels go away, to deny the fact that maybe you don't know what you are talking about. It's a thing you use when you can't back up your claims and statements, but want to feel like "winner" regardless.
It's all about living in denial, about gaining acceptance, and perception; to be that person in the ads in other people's eyes: having that focused gaze, with a confident smile in a clean suit and in a neatly clean open surroundings, maybe with a few blurred figures in the background to show that I have people behind me - I lead and I'm supported - I am secure. Maybe the arms are crossed to show some defiance: "Yup that's me.."

Some people seem to think that the title is just like using the word "racism", "sexist" or "whatever-o-phobe" but to boost your own credibility, instead of negating someone else's.
And since some people seem to think they are entitled to have whatever other people have, they want these powerful magic spells just to be given to them. Not realizing that having a title isn't a goal like in a race, but actually a level of assumed responsibility: the further you climb the more you are responsible for stuff; the work is not over once you got "the title".

And even if I just gave you a gold medal, you don't suddenly acquire the physique of a world class athlete. You acquire the physique first, apply it properly and then you get the gold medal, IF no one else is better than you.

It is earned: the power doesn't come from the title, the power to be responsible gives you the title. The title is given AFTER you have achieved the power, once you have proven that you can handle the responsibility, once you can be trusted with the responsibility. The title of power is gained by actually being powerful. Once you've gained a title, you are supposed to continue on that level of achieving i.e. you must hold onto that title.
