In order there to be balance, everything must have a nemesis, the anti-it, the negating force, the equal and opposite reaction. Everything is and must be compensated, one way or another. Every yin has its yang. There are no free meals. Everything has a price.
Externally beautiful usually are internally ugly.
Externally rich are internally poor.
Riches have no value if you haven't paid for them (no one appreciates free.)
Have casual relationships at expense of deeper ones.
Having tons of friends lessens the value of each individual one.
If you start with everything, you can only lose things.
If you start with nothing, you can only gain things.
From the top of a mountain, the only way forward is down.
From the bottom of a ravine, you can only go up.
Everything negative has its positive side and vice versa.
Nothing is inherently either good or bad, it's both and neither.
If you take all the evil inside you, you leave only good in the world, but you'll destroy it.
If you take all the good inside you, you leave only evil in the world, and it'll destroy you.
Do not try to be all-good or all-bad, accept your share of both. Balance yourself.
Life is a dance of opposites, be the one doing the dancing.
“When people see some things as beautiful,
other things become ugly.
When people see some things as good,
other things become bad.”
― Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching
I could go on, but I bet I get enough flak from this nonsense as it is.
